Adjectives

Adjectives describe nouns and pronouns. There are three kinds of adjectives:

1) Modifiers: They describe or enhance the meaning of another part of speech. Example: He is always late.

2) Question words: What, who, how, excuse me? where, where to, where from, when, why.

3) Descriptives: These are the most widely used adjectives that describe nouns and pronouns.

* They never change like they do in many other languages.
* They go in front of the noun and after the verb to be.

Examples: Noun: The white house.

To be: The house is white.

Some adjectives do not have a comparative degree- absolute, impossible, principal, adequate, inevitable, stationary, chief, irrevocable, sufficient, complete, main, unanimous, devoid, manifest, unavoidable, entire, minor, unbroken, fatal, paramount, unique, final, perpetual, universal, ideal, preferable, whole.
