Either & Neither

         Either and neither are words that can't be directly translated into spanish. Neither is the opposite of either in one of the definitions of either, but neither means the same thing as either in the other definition of either. These words are only used when you are talking about two things.

         Either

Definition # 1) Put at the beginning of the sentence, either is used to say that both of two options will work.

Example: Either Kyle or Paola will be able take my son to school.

Definition # 2) Put at the end of the sentence, either is used to say that both of the two options will not work:

Example: Kyle can't drive my son to school, and Paola can't either.

         Neither- Is always put at the beginning of the sentence, neither means the same thing as definition # 2 of either.

Example: Neither Kyle (or, nor) Paola can drive my son to school.

         Practice

1) Kyle- I can't go skiing tomorrow because _________ of my cars is working right now.

Paola- Well, what about your mothers' car?

Kyle- That isn't working ____________! It's frustrating!

2) Paola- You have two options Kyle, you can ________ go home with me now, or you can come back tomorrow with your mother.

Kyle- No, actually James and Andrea are here too, and ______ one of them could take me back.

Paola- _______ one of them can take you back Kyle, because they don't have licenses,
