Tag-Questions

Tag-Questions are affirmative sentences where a response is asked to verify the truth of the statement. They are like a polite form of the imperative tense.

There are two contexts where tag questions are used -

1) Where the object of the sentence is suggesting, or acting like the statement isn't
true, which prompts the speaker to reaffirm the truth.

Why are you still in bed? You want to go skiing don't you?
Why aren't you going out with us? Don't you like us?

2) To ask for reassurance for a statement. The closest equivalent to this in Spanish is
saying, no?, at the end of the sentence.

You like coffee, don't you?
He can do that, can't he?
Is isn't very cold, is it?
It's hot, isn't it?
He's a nice guy, isn't he?
James didn't come, did he?
Kyle came late again, didn't he?
You like coffee, right?

He shouldn't do it, should he?
He could do it, couldn't he?
