Present Perfect is used when you are saying that you have done something at least once before in your life. The magic word for this tense, have & has, are translated as he, has, ha, hemos, han, & han; with the verb in the past participle form, just like in Spanish.

Past X
Present

Example - Has hecho eso = You have done that.

1) Yo he estado a Europa          I have been to Europe

2) El ha hecho eso          He has done that

3) Has comido un platano antes?         Have you eaten a banana before?

4) Nosotros hemos bebido jugo de cereza.         We has drinken (drunk) cherry juice.

5) Yo he subido ese montaña.         I have climbed that mountain

6) Ellos han dicho que las manzanas son deliciosas muchas veces.         They have said apples are delicious many times

7) Ella ha leido un libro acerca de las frambruesas.         She has read a book about strawberries.

8) Has estado al biblioteca.         Have you been (gone) to the library?

9) Yo no he hecho eso a los duraznos antes.         I haven't done that to peaches before.

10) Él no ha ido (estado) allá.         He hasn't been (gone) there.

Present Perfect is usually used in conversations, because the people who are talking are speaking in the present:

Kyle - Have you been to France before?

Paola - Yes, I have.

Kyle - Did you like it?

Paola - Yes I did. I went up the Eiffel tower in Paris, I went to the mountains, and did many other things that I don't think you have done.

I even ate a French Bagel.

Kyle - You did!? I have never eaten that before.

Paola - You haven't eaten a French Bagel before? I thought you said you ate a French Bagel in Switzerland.

Kyle - I have eaten Bagels before, but I haven't eaten French Bagels before.

* The word have has two other meanings:

1) As a verb: I have a lemon.

2) As a conditional: I could have gotten there on time if my car had started.
