         Simple Past expresses something that happened in the past. In most cases, we use the simple rule of adding -ed to the end of the verb to make it past. There are about 50 commonly used irregular verbs that you have to memorize. When expressing the past with an adjective we use the past form of the to be verb in front of the verb.

         With Verb: Yesterday, I walked to school.

         With Adjective: Yesterday, I was happy when I walked to school.
