The second time I attempted to enter Honduras was the successful one. I took the bus down some beautiful jungle mountain roads. Bus left me off at the first town so I could ride across the rest of the country. I stayed in a town called Nueva Octopeque. The town reminded me of the towns I saw in Spain and Portugal where they are all small and peaceful with almost no cars and narrow ancient cobble stone roads, and white connected buildings. I stayed one night there. I happened to have a TV in my room and that night the super bowl was happening so I got to watch it. One team trounced the other one, I don't remember. It was the 2001 Super bowl. The next day I opted to take the bus to the next town. I think the second biggest town in Honduras called San Pedro Sula where I stayed for a night. On the bus ride I was talking to a guy but I don't remember what it was about. The city is in a valley on the east side of the mountains, I know this because I remember descending the hills in the bus while I was talking to the guy. I got a hotel about ten blocks from the short pedestrian mall marking the center of the town. There were some friendly looking young Honduran girls working the desk but I got hypnotized by my TV watching an American TV show. I remember in those days I used to be transfixed by American TV and addicted to Movies when I was traveling. I spent a day there when I rode my bike down to the center.
